Hey, you're back! Can I say, "Excellent!!" without sounding like a real idiot? (No, probably not.)
The pink lines in this really jump out, it's electrifying. And the whole thing has the feeling of batik about it, though I'm not quite sure why. Very nice.
Hey Deirdre - 'excellent!!' is no worse than 'awesome!!' which I use all the time and get all kinds of flak (sp?) about... really, it's enough for me to know there are people out there looking and caring enough to comment. Even if you had said, 'This redefines awful!!! It reeks!!!,' I would still prefer that to nothing... It does kind of look batik-ish, doesn't it? I don't really know how I did that either - I just like to mess around until I get something I like. I don't know if you saw that I loved your picture of the macadamia grove - it made such an impression on me I can still see it in my mind's eye; and that snake incident was really strange too. One of the people I work with said he read somewhere that the reason a lot of people have such a fear of spiders and snakes is because perhaps they didn't originate on this planet. Odd, but I could see that as a possibility. Anyway, the art is calling... thank you again for making my morning! @0) Jen
I am: fond of weird things, the smell of books, and licorice jelly beans.
Mother to two impish boys, ages 6 and 8.
Wife of an ornery man with a strange sense of humor and a good heart.
Always interested in artmaking (collage, photography, painting, printmaking), writing, and a number of passing interests too numerous to list - I hope I get to live an extra long time because I'll need it.
